Bio
Indy Hoeve is an emerging artist in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. She will obtain her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Studio Art from Meredith College in December of 2024. During undergrad, Indy focused on oil painting and ceramic sculpture.
Indy developed an intense passion for public education. She has worked as a community artist in public schools as well as assisting multiple art teachers across grade levels in their classrooms. During these experiences she found a passion for working with English Language learners (ELL) students. After graduation, Indy plans to obtain a 150 hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language certification to continue working with ELLS. Indy also plans to apply for a Fulbright Scholar to teach english abroad.
Indy Hoeve is deeply inspired by language learning. Delving into travelling and communication theory, Much of her work focuses on stories from her life that are meant to encourage the viewer to recall their own memories. The inspiration she finds from languages invites viewers to engage with her work across cultures, languages, and borders.
